Several members of the 2016 Team Alameda Board of Directors have left the board or will have their terms expire at the end of the year. Four club members have volunteered to join the Board for the first time in 2017.  Since the number of candidates (continuing members plus new volunteers) for the 2017 Board does not exceed the number of available seats (11), all candidates are considered elected by acclamation as provided by the club bylaws.

Please congratulate our new Directors, whose terms will begin in January: Ralph Bruni, Isabella de Matos, Steve Elias, Mike Herriot, and Norman Woo.

The 2017 Board of Directors will be:

    • Ralph Bruni
    • Isabella de Matos
    • Steve Elias
    • Mike Herriot
    • Rens Kleinman
    • John McNulty
    • Shel Milligan
    • Jack Scullion
    • Steve Torrence
    • Norman Woo
As is customary, the Board will elect its officers and decide committee and project responsibilities at its January meeting.

Please thank all our recent and outgoing Directors for their service to the club: Ron Arth, Gayle Cepparo, Betsy Ingram, Joe Mariscal, and Rick McLeod.

From an article in January 1st's SF Chronicle:

Highway Lane Use:  Current law requiring slow-moving vehicles to let traffice pass now also requires bicycles to use the next available turnout when five or more vehicles are behind them.

Earbuds and headsets:  Makes it illegal to wear headsets, earbuds or earphones inserted in or covering both ears while operating a motor vehicle or bicycle.
