News & Announcements

Every September we invite members to join the Team Alameda board, as terms will expire soon for half the current board members.

The board typically meets once each month, currently in the evening of the first Wednesday. If you join the board, your two-year term will start in January. The board's members decide their subcommittee assignments at the first meeting of the year. Have a look at the current board-member assignments below to get an idea of what the areas of responsibility are.

If, by the end of Sept., we have more volunteers than open seats, club members will be asked in October to elect board members from among the volunteers. As provided by the club bylaws, if we don't have more volunteers than open seats, all volunteers will be considered to be elected and we won't hold a vote.

If you're interested, please send email to and

Everything good about Team Alameda happens because members volunteer their time and effort. Please consider serving on the Team Alameda board to help keep those good things happening.

We have rolled out the new ride calendar announced last week.  When you click the Calendar menu link you will now see the new calendar instead of the old one.

Ride leaders will be receiving access tokens for posting and editing rides by email from the ride coordinators. If you want to post a ride before you get yours, please contact Rens and Steve.

You can read more details about the new calendar, including how to get the ride calendar directly on your phone and detailed instructions for how to post rides HERE (New Calendar FAQ)

From an article in January 1st's SF Chronicle:

Highway Lane Use:  Current law requiring slow-moving vehicles to let traffice pass now also requires bicycles to use the next available turnout when five or more vehicles are behind them.

Earbuds and headsets:  Makes it illegal to wear headsets, earbuds or earphones inserted in or covering both ears while operating a motor vehicle or bicycle.
