Twenty Team Alamedans banded together to benefit the Bay Area Outreach and Recreation Program (BORP) for their annual BORP Revolution fundraising ride October 4th, 2008.
Berkeley-based BORP provides athletic and outdoor recreational activities for people with visual disabilities and physical challenges, and the Revolution is their annual bike ride fundraiser, and this year our 20 BORP'ers outdid themselves by claiming the Top Fundraising Team title!
Since starting the fundraising team category in 2006, the most ever raised by any fundraising team was $13,500. But Team Alameda bested that record by gathering a stellar total of $16,481 in donations, and securing the top spot. And, as winners of the Team Fundraising category, Team Alameda BORP participants will be receiving a prize of a custom bike tour from Black Sheep Adventures!!
More money was raised for BORP in 2008 than in any previous year, with a total of over $180,000 - a new record for the Revolution.
Congratulations to all the TA BORP riders, for a job well done.
